Expertise

I have been a full-time teacher for more than thirty years. I have also tutored students in small group settings as well as 1-1. I know what a student would need to know in order to earn the highest possible scores on standardized exams such as the SAT and the ACT. I created an SAT Prep verbal class syllabus. I have worked with highly motivated students and those who were less motivated. That makes no difference to me.

Teaching Methods

I have to determine the best way to reach all students since I firmly believe that all students can learn. I use my own materials as well as those from various sources. It is critically important to have structure and routines. I would work with each student to find out what his /her needs, strengths and weaknesses are and gear instruction based on that assessment. I must keep the student motivated and interested.
