Expertise

The subjects and courses that I teach are in areas in which I have a lot of experience in by either having been trained or have received satisfactory grades in.
My Master's program included many courses in social psychology, statistics and statistical analysis through SAS and SPSS.

During my time at Columbia University I received A's in calculus, biological sciences, and physics.

I was trained through a private tutoring institution in teaching how to take the ACT, SAT, and various other subject tests.

I have tutoring for about 5 and a half years and I have loved working with very academically diverse students. From those that are hoping to attend Ivy League institutions to those who simple wish to get ahead in school.

My students usually see a significant boost in their scores after about 2-3 sessions with me.
I continue to keep myself immersed in the subjects that interest me. Whether it be through casual reading to refreshing myself on the subjects through intense review.

I find the more I teach the subject, the easier it is for me to teach those subjects.

Teaching Methods

I tend to use highly regarded review books, real tests, real questions, and electronic materials for my students.

I try to structure my in-persons lessons based on the needs of my students.

After sessions with my students I give assignments that I feel will help strengthen the lessons that we have reviewed. These assignments are all based on the needs of the student.

I believe having a personalized lesson plan with specific goals in mind for each student is important in truly maximizing their improvements.
